Anoperation condition setting unit sets the range of the required vehicle power Pv tooperate the engine as an engine operation condition for controlling the energy balancebetween generated power and generated electric power of an electric rotating machinein a case where the vehicle travels the route to be at a preset value according to thepower frequency distribution predicted by the power frequency distribution predictingunit. An operation control unit controls the operation of the engine according to therange of the required vehicle power Pv to operate the engine set by the operationcondition setting unit.
