1 Introduction
Some supplier want to use VTP as their communication software, but they only get the CANdbc file from the OEM. This document shows how to get configuration files in this case.
2 Object
The purpose of this document is to describe step by step how to import CANdbc file into VNA, and then generated configuration files. It is for supplier use.

4 Import CANdbc
The following steps describe how to import objects in a CANdbc file into VNA.
4.1 Step1: open VNA Import-Export Utility
It will ask you to choose your Destination Database , you need to connect to a database (can be an empty or exist database),or you can choose to connect to Destination Database later by click Database/Connect to Destination

4.2 Step2: default timing information for signal and frame
Please set you default timing information by click File\\Setting\\Timing Settings. Since you want to import the frame period from the CANdbc file or set the period by manually, you need to keep these information empty.
4.3 Step3: Attribute Mapping
Please set your attribute mapping information by click File\\Setting\\Timing Settings. This is because there are different attribute name for same objects between VNA database and CANdbc. You can either use our default mapping or edit by yourself, do not forget to save it.

In these step, you can choose to import any object: configuration, node, signal etc. For a easy way, you can import all of these object by click Import object will all Children on VNA Project.
4.7 Step7: click “save changes” to save the database
Do remember to save your change to the database.
5 Configuration in VNA
The following steps describe how to configuration the node in VNA before generate the configuration files .
5.1 Step1: open the database in VNA
5.2 Step2: open the configuration
In the VNA, you need to open your database and open your configuration.

2: change network speed, input jitter, output jitter, input clock, suffix and controller base address of the interface of the node.
3: click “save”, check that all the errors are related to signal Publish and subscriber latency since we do not sign these parameter.
5.5 Step5: Configuration of Network
Click network button on the configuration window, to set the parameter of the network.
You can delete all the other interface and node in the configuration, sign the network speed and suffix for the node you want to generate configuration file.
